Relationship Compatibility Should Not Rest on Just These Two Pillars

In an actual compatibility reading, neither the year pillar nor the month pillar holds the highest weight. The day pillar does. The day pillar represents the person themselves, and the day branch is traditionally considered the spouse palace. The relationship between two people's day pillars is the single most heavily weighted factor in BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) compatibility. If the year pillars clash and the month pillars harmonize, but both day pillars relate well to each other, the foundation of the marriage remains solid. The time pillar's reference value in compatibility is traditionally linked to children and later-life fortune — lower in weight than the day pillar, but not ignored entirely.

Beyond that, Luck Pillars and Annual Fortune have a dynamic influence on marriage quality that is often more immediate than the static four-pillar comparison. Two charts that look compatible on paper can still run into serious trouble if both partners move through Luck Pillars unfavorable to marriage at the same time. This is a point many people miss.

There is no universal answer that holds outside a specific set of charts. This combination is not an ominous configuration. Asking whether a combination of two Earthly Branch symbols is good or bad will only ever get you a reference point, not a reliable answer.
