Do You Rely on the Lunar or Gregorian Calendar for Choosing Auspicious Dates?

Many unfold a Tong Shu (Almanac) or open their calendar app, see "Ausopicious Date," and happily book openings or weddings. But there's a major misunderstanding: what exactly do we mean by "date"? Do we follow the Sun, with 30-day months and 365-day years in the Gregorian system, or do we follow the Moon's phases, with its irregular long and short months in the Lunar calendar?

In traditional metaphysics, the essence of a "Day" is that of Qi (Energy/Wu). The Lunar calendar (a Sino-Solar hybrid) is a compromise: it uses a moon cycle of about 29.5 days for structure but relies on solar Ti Ji (Solar Terms) to define the months. What really steers the flow of atmosphere often isn't the cold, hard numbers on the page, but the exact moment of a Solar Term's transition. If you only fixate on Gregorian dates, you risk mixing two distinct energy fields.
