The more actionable reading is this: the Fortune & Virtue Palace reveals your psychological baseline and your relationship with pleasure and desire.
When Hua Lu falls into the Fortune & Virtue Palace, it activates and amplifies that palace. Lu represents flowing wealth energy and smooth progress; landing here, it says plainly: this person's inner world is fairly abundant, easily satisfied, with a natural enthusiasm for life.

If the Migration Palace carries a Hua Ji (Transforming Obstruction) shooting across, the Fortune & Virtue Lu gets disrupted — environmental flux and interpersonal friction can steadily erode that inner sense of stability.
One more scenario that is easy to overlook: if the Luck Pillars or Annual Fortune cycle through the Fortune & Virtue Palace and encounter Hua Ji at that time, even a natal Lu cannot prevent a noticeable dip in mood and well-being during that period. The natal chart is a static foundation; the Si Hua (Four Transformations) of the Annual Fortune are the real-time thermometer.
How This Affects Actual Fortune and Luck
The Fortune & Virtue Palace carries one indirect but persistent influence on a person's luck: it shapes whether you can "hold" good fortune when it arrives.
That sounds a bit abstract, but the logic is direct. A person whose psychological baseline is stable tends not to make distorted decisions out of panic or greed when opportunity appears; when adversity hits, they do not collapse entirely. People with Hua Lu in the Fortune & Virtue Palace generally have a more stable baseline, so even when the Wealth or Career Palaces are not in peak configuration, they often make good use of whatever resources they already have.
There is an old saying in popular fortune-telling that goes roughly: "Without a sufficient Fortune & Virtue Palace, wealth cannot be kept." The idea is that money may flow in, but if the inner vessel cannot hold it — through anxiety, compulsion, or an inability to feel satisfied — it flows back out just as easily.

The Life Palace, Wealth Palace, Career Palace, and Migration Palace all have far more direct bearing on actual outcomes than the Fortune & Virtue Palace does.
