Origin of Zhuge Shenshu
Zhuge Shenshu is traditionally attributed to Zhuge Liang. It uses three Chinese characters and their stroke counts to derive one of 384 oracles corresponding to the 384 lines of the I Ching.
Three-Character Numbering
The first character supplies the hundreds digit, the second the tens, and the third the units. 1-9 count as-is; multiples of ten become 1; otherwise use the ones digit.
384 Oracles, 384 Lines
The 384 Zhuge Shenshu oracles match the 384 lines of the 64 I Ching hexagrams. Each oracle pairs a poem with an explanation full of symbolic meaning.
